2024/2025 Schedule

Events

Events are open to all homeschooling families in the LC Valley, regardless of membership in other co-ops.

Space may be limited and fees may be required. Contact us to RSVP and get the address.

Group Classes

The 2024/2025 teaching duties have been assigned. Extra volunteer opportunities (e.g., watching toddlers) are assigned as needed.

Every family is expected to have a volunteer position.

Parent Participation

Every family must have an adult attending with their children. This adult must be on site with their kids, keeping kids on task and exhibiting appropriate classroom behaviors.

Every adult should be actively participating in the group, as group leaders, nursery leaders, or by being good examples of listening and learning.

No child drop-offs: we are not babysitters.

Class Routine

9:00–9:30 Presentations
Every child will have the opportunity to share a "show and tell" style presentation.

9:30–10:00 New Memory Work
We will work on memorizing, in fun and engaging ways. Memorize sentences in the subjects of World Timeline, History, English, Greek, Math, Science, and Geography.

10:00–10:30 Story of the World (read aloud and snack)

We listen to and answer questions regarding a chapter from the Story of the World curriculum while eating our snacks.

10:30–11:00 Craft or Project

Based on the Story of the World chapter we just read.

11:00–11:30 Fine Art or Science Project from Invictus Classical Press curriculum.

11:30–12:00 Review Memory Work

Playing games to recap and reinforce past weeks of memory work for best retention.

Cirriculum

Rock·Papyrus·Scholars follows the Invictus Classical Press curriculum (30 weeks).

Invictus Classical Press suggests one hour of "living story" time in a community group, which we will fill with read aloud and crafts from Book One of the "Story of the World" curriculum.

It may be helpful, but isn't necessary, for your family to purchase these two curricula for home use.

Fees

All families pay a non-refundable flat fee of $200 per year—families with four or more children pay an extra $35 per child.

All fees are used for craft materials and events. Rock·Papyrus·Scholars is volunteer run, no one is paid or reimbursed for their time or teaching.

If you are interested in joining—but the fee is a deal breaking hardship for your family—please reach out to discuss possible options.
