ABOUT
Rock·Papyrus·Scholars

OUR ORIGIN STORY
Empowering Homeschool Education
I took the leap of faith to start Rock·Papyrus·Scholars in 2024 after a lot of internal debate, family discussion, and prayer.

My family has participated in two different Classical Conversations community groups (2019 to 2024) that were invaluable sources of knowledge and friendship. My association with these incredible communities empowered me to create a space that would be more conducive to my educational desires.

Going forward, my goal is to provide a similar experience for my family—all the joy, all the classical-ness that means so much to
us—in a community group that has only local leadership, flexibility for each family, and is more inclusive to individual faith journeys.

Oh, and did I mention, have FUN!!!!!
OUR MISSION
Diverse Perspectives, Shared Goals
Creating a community of belonging as we:
glean wisdom from the past,
let God prevail in our present,
and promote futures full of learning and faith.

OUR NAME
Rock Papyrus Scholars
So much serious thought and contemplation went into creating the name we wanted to be known as. Each aspect is meant to represent an essential element to our group. It's meant to be chanted in the same way you would play, "Rock, Paper, Scissors" with a friend which is reflected in our logo. This is indicative of our commitment to using fun and games in all our educational pursuits.
1
ROCK
Rock is in reference to our Savior, Jesus Christ, who is often described in the scriptures as our Rock, or The Rock of our salvation. May we all be like the wise man who built his house upon The Rock. May the pillars of our learning be built upon Christ.
2
PAPYRUS
Papyrus, an ancient writing material, is meant to evoke the essence of classical education. We are commitment to providing an education rooted in the same rigorous and esteemed principles found in the classical model of education.

SCHOLARS
Scholars was chosen to denote the aptitude of our students. Scholars are distinguished as being hardworking and dedicated to their academics. We aim to use love and enthusiasm to encourage all students to be excited and passionate about their learning and prepare them to be scholars.
